  • The unit focuses on the generation and improvement of business opportunities thinking “out of the box” Innovation will be the centre of value creation in the present disruptive environment.

  • This unit helps the student to differentiate the problems in order to identify decisions with major impact in business minimizing efforts, costs, and time. This unit gives the tools to identify those problems differentiating the ones related to business/money from the ones related to personal/organizational issues. It develops technical abilities for decision making with limited or complex information.

  • The current environment and organizations require adaptive leadership that considers not only external aspects but also the manager’s personal profile. Communication, and listening skills (feedback) are increasingly important in the plural, multicultural, and globalized environments. During this course, students will learn to know their leadership style and how to exercise it in different environments. Likewise, they must know and use the fundamental elements and structures to build clear messages that allow them to approach communication with more confidence and know how to effectively manage situations of doubt, questions or confrontation.

  • The current context modifies the way we communicate and interact, the diversity of people we address, as well as the means we use to transmit messages, share, influence and achieve our purpose, highlight the importance of becoming aware of our communication style and impact, being key to know the tools and methodologies that make us more flexible in order to adapt to any situation and interlocutors without losing impact.

  • The aim of this subject is for the student to acquire the competencies and knowledge taking the decisions in an ethical way, with social corporate responsibility and the different stakeholders in a global and multicultural environment. Apply high standards of respect for human values and cultural diversity. Develop competencies to measure the economic impact of decisions when taken or even when not taken.

  • Current organizations and environments require an adaptative leadership not just in the external facts but in the managers' profile as well. Within this framework communication abilities are more and more important in globalized and multicultural environments. Students will learn their leadership style and how to apply it in different circumstances. • This subject aims at giving a critical and substantial understanding of the scientific discipline known as Economics in International Business: its main objective is to provide an integrated view of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics through a model that analyzes international trade and foreign markets. The students will see Economics as a coherent whole and they will be able to make sense not only of past economic events, but also of those that unfold in the future, stressing the fact that an ethical behavior combined with skills and professionalism is able to ensure sustainable development, rather than a short- term profit.

  • Triple Bottom Line: The aim of the course is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge to analyze how the value of an organization and the decisions to be made to maximize it, rests nowadays not only in the financial or tangible aspects that and are accounted for in the classical financial statements (e.g. property, cash), but also on other value relevant aspects which affect to all their stakeholders.

In this block, participants will be led to the understanding of financial data (mainly coming from the external and internal accounting system) to critically analyze the value creation in these three main areas: financial, environmental (or ecological) and social.

  • The advances we are experiencing in different disciplines and especially in technology are modifying the value chain in organizations in a way that is necessary to ensure their sustainability and competitiveness. This is why the alignment of the organization and the adaptation of structures in an agile manner are key to achieving an organizational design that evolves at the same speed like the context in which we work. This subject allows us to develop the behaviors that allow us to deploy the culture by improving the employee and customer experience, to know the most appropriate tools for the management, measurement, and monitoring of the indicators defined in the value proposition, and to incorporate the most appropriate models for change management in organizations. Knowing what to do, when to do it, and how to address the challenges considering all stakeholders to ensure the optimal evolution and adaptation to the digital ecosystem.

Final Project

  • The 6-week final project consists of students who will work in teams as consultants with startups in the incubation and acceleration phases integrating their professional knowledge and skills learned during their MBA program into assisting entrepreneurs with in-depth business analysis and recommendations. Value is given to both the startup companies and students who will be able to use this experience to grow their network and increase their business portfolios.

  • A Thesis is an important part of the IMBA educational plan, and it also assumes a crucial role in developing students’ ability to make a comprehensive use of the basic knowledge, theory, and skills they have learnt in preliminary scientific research, to work independently and to be able to solve problems in a practical and creative way.
Upon the return from their SISU international experience, students will have 6 months working online with tutors in SISU to prepare a final thesis to complete the program and apply their combined knowledge and analysis. After final approval and completion, students will have demonstrated the complete proof of competence to complete the IMBA dual degree program.

  • Consulting Field Project: Group project involving the completion of an intensive intervention mandate (between 800 and 1,000 team hours in total) in a business or organization wishing to take advantage of the training received in the MBA program.
While the consultation project has learning goals similar to those of the HEC Challenge, it differs in terms of intensity and the importance and complexity of the mandate. The students choose the members of their team. The team must put itself forward for projects that interest it. In this way, the consultation project provides an experience that is more in line with students' professional interests. Students in the full-time program work on the project on a full-time basis for 5 weeks. For students in the part-time program, the project is spread over a period of 8 weeks.
