Excuse me:

To get someone´s attention

Apologize for getting someone´s attention

Ask someone to move in order to pass

Tell politely that you´re leaving

 

Sorry:

Emphasize how silly or embarrassing it is something

Show sadness or compassion because something bad has happened to someone

Show disappointment over a situation and want to change it

 

Pardon:

When we don´t understand:

Sorry? What? (informal) or (I beg your)pardon

American: Pardon me?

 

Example:

«Mike´s on the pone.» Sorry? I said «Mike´s on the pone»

«See you tomorrow». «What?» I said «See your tomorrow»

«Your´re going deaf». I beg your pardon?
