ESIC's Quality System is supported by Committees and Technical Units in which the different interest groups that participate in ESIC are represented. The Strategic and Academic Committees of ESIC are represented throughout the different Quality Committees, allowing for the alignment of strategic, academic and quality objectives.

The Quality Committees and Technical Units are detailed below in three levels:

Institutional Committees

The Institutional Committees are made up of the ESIC Quality Committee and the Quality Unit, Accreditation and other Acknowledgments.

ESIC's Quality, Accreditations and Rankings Committee:

Formed by the General Secretariat (Committee Management); Corporate and Business Development Management; ESIC Experience Management; Dean's Office of the University Area; Dean's Office of the Postgraduate and Executive Education Area; Quality, Accreditations and Rankings Management; Academic Quality Management of the University Area; Academic Quality Management of the Postgraduate and Executive Education Area; Business Analysis-Ranking.

Committee Objective: To ensure the dissemination and implementation of ESIC's Quality Policy and the revision of the Quality Management, Accreditation and Ranking System.

Frequency: At least 3 per year, and extraordinary ones as necessary.

Committees by Area

ESIC has generated two types of committees by area: Internal Quality Assurance Committee and Area Improvement Committees.

The Internal Quality Assurance Committee is developed in both the University and Postgraduate Areas.

Improvement Committees are developed for each of the academic areas: University, Postgraduate, Executive Education, ICEMD and Languages.

The committees complement each other and ensure that the area's objectives are met, as well as identifying and implementing possible improvements.

Quality Assurance Committee (Own Degrees Area Postgraduate)

Formed by representatives of the different interest groups that participate in the SGC-ESIC.

he Quality, Accreditation and Other Acknowledgements Unit will convene the Committee once before the Quality Committee is held, and after sending documentation of interest on the QMS, which must be dealt with according to the agenda. The meeting will be convened through ESIC's public website and intranet, so that any member of any interest group can attend if they wish and after confirming their attendance to the Quality, Accreditations and other Recognitions Unit.

It aims to review the adequacy of the SGC-ESIC to the requirements and review it before putting required improvements into place in the referenced system. The scope of the Quality Committee will be those degrees in the Postgraduate Area that are not managed by a Degree Committee of their own degree.

Frequency: 1 prior to the ordinary and/or extraordinary quality committee as required.

Quality, Accreditation and Ranking Committee

Committee by Degree:

Each Degree will have a Committee formed as follows:

  • The Director of the Academic Committee of the Degree, who will chair its meetings.
  • A Coordinator of the University or Postgraduate area, who corresponds to the Degree.
  • Two to five professors who teach the Degree.
  • The Delegate and Sub-delegate of students of the Degree.
  • A representative of the Academic Management staff (PAS)
  • One/two external experts

Committee objective: corporate body responsible for Quality Assurance of the Degree. It aims to promote the continuous improvement of the programme by seeking excellence through the following functions:

  • Monitoring the objectives of the Study Programme.
  • Proposals, implementation and monitoring of actions to improve the programme.
  • Developing an IQAS within the framework of the degree.
  • Carrying out the appropriate evaluations of the quantitative and qualitative data offered by the "Degree Reports" and proposals for improvement based on this information (Degree Report included in the Annual Degree Report)
  • Creating the Annual Degree Report.
  • Involving the academic directorates in the permanent improvement of the Degree.
  • Involving non-academic directorates in the permanent improvement of non-academic services for students who are studying their degrees.

Frequency: 2 meetings per academic year and per programme (degree).
