Business Administration is focused on general knowledge regarding the fundamental sectors that a company must develop to assure a correct functioning (finances, human resources, accounting, legislation, among many others.) Marketing is a more specific sector, which is based on learning the tools and techniques that are fundamental for the commercialization of a product or service. Lastly, both Advertising and Public Relations are specific sectors inside another specific sector (Marketing) which are based on tools that are fundamental to support and ease the communication of a product or service.
The Business Administration degree focuses on the company and helps the students to acquire general business competences and functioning of all the company’s sectors. However, the Digital Business Administration degree focuses on specific business competences that are applied in technological and digital environments.
The main characteristics of the Digital Business Administration degree are:
Appliance of business concepts to the digital world.
Math and calculus classes are reduced in time so that business digitalization classes take more relevance.
ESIC offers two bilingual degrees: Digital Business degree in ESIC Madrid, and International Business degree in Valencia. The first two academic years are taught in Spanish and the following two or three academic years are taught in English. In addition, Business English is taught as a class in their two first years taught in Spanish.
Both degrees Business Administration and Business Administration and Marketing will be completely taught in English.
Students can start internships in their 3rd academic year, and in their 4th year they can do curriculum internships, which are mandatory to complete the program. ESIC encourages its students to do as much internships as possible during the development of their academic life.
Internships are managed in the Internships Department. This department serves as guide for the students. Every year, the department processes more than 2,000 internship offers, so that every student has the opportunity to do an internship. In addition, these internships are always related to the degree taken by the students.
The students will not only be able to perform all of the functions that the standard Business Administration students do, but they will also be capable of performing functions related to the digital sector: Web Analytics, SEO, eCommerce, Digital Content Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Social Media Manager, Digital Communication Expert and Community Manager, Digital Market Research, among many other.
In their 3rd year, students will be able to do an exchange academic year in any of the 90+ universities and business schools that have partnerships with ESIC. In addition, they will be able to choose a different destination for every term of the mentioned exchange academic year.
It is not mandatory, usually international and national educational institutions with an IB system (International Baccalaureate) in Spain will take care of requesting UNED the Access Accreditation to enter the Spanish Public University system.
In case that your institution is located not located in Spain, you will be able to request this UNED Accreditation in UNED Headquarters, in Madrid.
Yes. The only degree in ESIC that requires having done Selectividad is the Certificate Program in Marketing Management and Sales. This degree has been taught in Spain for more than 50 years, and its prestige is widely recognized within the business world.
The main difference is that the Certificate Program in Marketing Management and Sales is not a dual degree, which means it is not recognized by Spain’s Ministry of Education. However, its prestige within the business world for more than 50 years is strongly considered in any job selection process in any company.
Yes, we offer our own scholarships and aid, and partnerships with many banking institutions that offer student loans. Each scholarship has different requirements, so we strongly recommend reading the Scholarship information in ESIC website, accessing the University Degree or the Admissions and Aid links.
Admissions tests can be taken even if you have not finished your last year of high school, your International Baccalaureate (IB) or a Superior Vocational Educational Training program. However, in order to enroll in any of our programs, the student will be required Selectividad, Accreditation of Access to the Spanish Public University System, or having done the CFGS. The place reservation will be done once the candidate is already admitted. In case of not passing any of these ways to access university, the place reservation fee will be reimbursed. No payment is required to take our Admissions test.
Tests are taken individually from Mondays to Fridays, 9:30 to 12:30 and 15:00 to 18:00.
It is required to previously set a date to take this test. This can be done by calling 914524167, 914524147, 914524197, or contacting us by email with your full name and last names, a desired date and hour (within the time frames previously mentioned), the degree that you want to take, and your phone number.
There is also the possibility to request a test date in our online form, accessing the “Admissions and Aid” link, in ESIC website.
Once the test date is requested, a confirmation email will be sent to you with the information regarding the required documents you need to take the test and the instructions to follow.
Admission Tests consist on a personal interview, a business case study exercise, and an English oral and written test. No previous preparation is needed to take this test. The exercise will not evaluate the candidate’s knowledge but how he or she writes, reflects on the matter, and expresses his or her ideas. The personal interview will evaluate how suitable the student’s profile is to take the desired degree, and how motivated they are to study in ESIC.
The results of the Admissions test will be notified to the candidates 48 hours (work days) after they had taken the test. This notification will be done by email, standard mail, and by phone.
If the candidate is admitted, he or she will have to reserve their place by paying the amount specified in the notification, in the established term. If the place reservation is done after the established time limit, we will not be able to guarantee a place for the candidate.
If the candidate is not admitted, he or she will be capable of taking the Admissions Tests during the following year.
In case you want to know anything about your classes being recognized in degree credits by ESIC, you will have to send an email with your program’s classes and syllabi attached to firstname.lastname@example.org. After this, a response email will be sent to you regarding the classes that are subject to be recognized by ESIC.
If the candidate has obtained more than 30 credits in his or her degree, they will have to request an Academic Certificate in their university of origin, so that they can start the transfer process to ESIC. If the student has not obtained more than 30 credits, he or she will have to present the Selectividad Certificate, copy of their ID or passport, copy of their IB grades (or their last two high school years’ grades), and the access form.
